Why Solar Power?

Find out how much money you can save with $0 down.

Solar Power has been around long enough for us to see the trends. Those who are taking action now to install solar power in their homes are finding that they save almost immediately. And with the cost of energy rising, so do the savings when you switch to Solar.

Why Solar Chart Save Money

Financial Benefits of Using Solar Power

Lower Power Cost, Lower Bills

Perhaps it’s obvious, that when you use energy that is actually free, the result would be lower electricity prices and bills.

Solar power has the most obvious financial benefit of lowering your utility bills. In truth, it’s a straightforward equation. Any electricity you generate with your solar panels is electricity you don’t have to buy from the utility. When your system generates more energy than you consume, it is fed back into the grid in exchange for an energy credit.

Will Solar really save you Money?

PG&E raises the cost of energy about 6.0% each year. Where the cost of solar installation is decreasing every year.

Solar power has managed to consistently and continuously decline over the last 40 years, becoming 300 times cheaper.

Solar Energy Naples

Sustainable Future, Cleaner Environment

It is priceless to ensure a cleaner and more sustainable future for future generations. Solar energy is one of the most environmentally friendly kinds of electricity available.

Your clean energy solar investment will benefit your children and grandkids equally, with warranties of up to 25 years and active production lives of up to 40-50 years.

Solar Tax Incentives

Let’s talk about the tax credit, and it works. A tax credit is a reduction in the amount of income tax you would otherwise owe, dollar for dollar. A $1,000 federal tax credit, for example, reduces your federal income tax liability by $1,000. The federal tax credit is commonly referred to as an Investment Tax Credit, or ITC, although it is not the same as the ITC available to firms that own solar panels.

The federal residential solar energy credit is a tax credit for a percentage of the cost of a solar photovoltaic (PV) system that can be claimed on federal income taxes. (Other sources of renewable energy qualify for equivalent credits, but they are outside the scope of this guidance.)

The system must be installed and generate electricity for a dwelling in the United States within the tax year. The IRS does not have a clear definition of what constitutes “put in service,” but it has linked it to “finished installation.”

Congress extended the ITC in December 2020, providing a 26 percent tax credit for systems installed in 2020-2022 and a 22 percent credit for systems installed in 2023. (A 30 percent tax credit was available for systems installed before December 31, 2019.) Unless Congress extends the tax credit, it will expire in 2024. There is no limit to the amount of money that can be claimed.

Environmental Benefits of Using Solar Power

Solar Power is Clean, Renewable, & Emission Free

Solar panels generate electricity that is clean, renewable, and emission-free. Solar power and other renewable resources–such as wind and hydropower–do not emit carbon dioxide or other local air pollutants, whereas most of the electricity generated in the United States is generated by burning fossil fuels like coal and natural gas.

While extracting and utilizing fossil fuels is costly and destructive to the environment, solar energy is both free and abundant — we could power the entire world for a year if we could capture all of the sun’s light shining on the Earth for only one hour!

By investing in solar energy, you can help reduce our reliance on fossil fuels in favor of one of the most abundant, consistent sources of energy we have available: our sun.

Solar Power Decreases Gas Emissions

The usage of solar energy reduces greenhouse gas emissions, which means better air for all of us! Using solar power to generate electricity instead of fossil fuels can significantly cut greenhouse gas emissions, particularly carbon dioxide (CO2).

When fossil fuels are used, greenhouse gases are released, resulting in rising global temperatures and climate change. From wildfires in the West to increasingly frequent and severe major storms in the East, climate change is already causing substantial environmental and public health challenges across the country and around the world.

You may reduce demand for fossil fuels, minimize greenhouse gas emissions, and reduce your own carbon footprint by adopting solar. In fact, even one home that installs a solar energy system has a demonstrable environmental impact.

Take, for example, a residence in Illinois, which isn’t known for its sunshine. The average residence in Illinois with solar panels can use up to 8,288 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per year. Switching from fossil fuels to solar has the same emissions reduction effect as planting around 150 trees per year for the lifespan of the solar panel system for that home in not-so-sunny Illinois.

Using a clean source of electricity, such as solar panels, can reduce carbon emissions by the equivalent of burning almost 5,000 pounds of coal per year.

Solar Power Positively Impacts Air Quality.

One of the most significant advantages of solar energy is that it produces very few pollutants in the atmosphere. According to a study conducted by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), broad solar adoption can considerably reduce nitrous oxide, sulfur dioxide, and particulate matter emissions, all of which are harmful to human health. Solar electricity, according to NREL, leads in fewer incidences of chronic bronchitis, respiratory and cardiovascular difficulties, and lost workdays due to health issues, among other things.
